ZANSKARKIDZ 2014

It was our last year to work together directly with the Zanskarkidz. They proved to do the photography already quite by themselves as they already took photos the winter and also in the summermonths just individually at their homes. A teacher, the most helpful Mr. Nawang Thardot, took care of the cameras and the storage of the photos. I was there especially for getting textmaterial and talk with them a little more about their unique culture. With their photos they covered already lots of aspects of their lifestyle. Mostly children from class 7 and 8 had cameras. Here they are:

We met again daily with the photoclass from the hostel, but also did much more talking, watching movies and photos.

A last phototrip brought us to Tahan, Phey and Sani and in the end we were quite sad to say goodbye. But I was also proud how well they understood everything and what a huge amount of great photos they took in these years. Now it is our part to distribute them much more by creating books, doing exhibitions etc. For sure we stay in contact and I’ll be curious to see how they continue. I left 2 cameras, a laptop and a flexible hard-disc with them.
